You never see the moebius cast-on written down. I'd like to make something like this some day.

Well, the idea of a moebius strip is that it has one side, not two, right? The other idea is that it has one edge, not two. So with a moebius scarf, you're knitting on BOTH EDGES of the scarf! Wild, huh? Here's an excellent example. and another. And this one is a shawl.
Note that the cast-on edge is at the very center. Does that help?
